Literary event at Volumes features McConnell, Gresham

Marty McConnell and Randy Gresham headlined a literary event that Chuck Kramer hosted at Volumes Bookcafe, 1474 M. Milwaukee Ave., on Sept. 14.

The large crowd was treated to new poetry by McConnell, the author of wine for a shotgun, who is preparing the manuscript for her next book. McConnell’s work has been published in numerous anthologies, including Best American Poetry 2014.

Also appearing were Gresham, a founding member and treasurer of the NewTown Writers; Gregorio Gomez, host of the long-running Weeds Poetry Open Mic; and poet Adrian Ford.
