Dexter Pottinger—an out gay Jamaican activist/fashion designer—was found stabbed to death Aug. 31 in his home in Kingston, Advocate.com reported.
Authorities have reportedly arrested a suspect and plan to charge the person. Pottinger had apparently been killed several days before his body was found.
In 2016, Pottinger (known as the “face of Pride”) played a key role in the Jamaica Forum of Lesbians, All-Sexuals and Gays’ Pride Week observance.
Outside of activism, Pottinger was a judge on the Jamaican reality show Make Me a Star.
