Varoujan “Var” Ketenjian, 56, of Barrington, passed away unexpectedly on March 9. He was 56.
He was born Oct. 21, 1961 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He was a graduate of Barrington High School and earned a BS degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
Var owned a dog-grooming business in Barrington, and for the past eight years he was a factory manager.
Var is survived by his cousins Ani Karagozian, Andre Balian, Viken Stamboulian, Chris Stamboulian and Ohan Stamboulian. Var is also survived by his loving fiance, Todd Davidson.
Var was a huge jeep fan, loved to travel, loved to cook and was a huge animal lover. For the past three years, he was especially fond of birds, and is survived by Perci, Sparky, Mango, Kiwi, Bobo and George.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Ketenjian, and will be buried next to her.
Var was loved by many far and wide. His smile, laugh and personality will be remembered by friends and family forever.
Visitation was March 13 with a funeral service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd), Barrington, IL 60010.
