The 2018 Midwest LGBTQ Health Symposium (MLHS), sponsored by Howard Brown Health on September 14 – 15, has changed its venue in order to stand with workers striking at various downtown hotels for expanded healthcare benefits. The two-day conference focused on best practices in LGBTQ healthcare and social services will convene at Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Jackson Blvd., instead of the original hotel venue. This change will be in effect even if the strike settles.
All scheduled plenary speakers and sessions will go on as planned. Malcom X College is conveniently located just off of I-290 near the 28A exit by Damen Ave, near the Illinois Medical District stop on the CTA Blue Line. Malcom X College also has free private parking for MLHS attendees. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We look forward to seeing you this Friday and Saturday.
Please see the Midwest LGBTQ Health Symposium website for the most up to date information.
There’s still time to register for the 2018 Midwest LGBTQ Health Symposium! We have designed a curriculum to uplift LGBTQ people and address health equity in our communities.
Online registration for this year’s symposium will close at noon on Sept. 13.
Attendees can register at the venue the day of the event.
