Chicago, IL – The winners of 24 Streamy Awards were unveiled this past weekend, including Chicago-made web series “the T” (Full Spectrum Features and OTV), which won for Best Indie Series. The 8th Annual Streamy Awards, produced by dick clark productions and presented by YouTube, honors the best in online video and the creators behind it. The 2018 awards ceremony will take place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA, on Monday, October 22 at 9:00PM ET / 6:00PM PT and will stream live globally and exclusively via YouTube.com/streamys. Additional categories to be announced include Creator of the Year, Show of the Year, Breakout Creator, Storyteller, Lifestyle, First Person, Comedy, Documentary, Pop Culture, among others.
Written and directed by co-stars Bea Cordelia and Daniel Kyri, “the T” follows Jo (Cordelia), a trans woman craving an increasingly elusive intimacy, and Carter (Kyri), a queer Black man at odds with his conservative upbringing, converge from opposite sides of Chicago for a magical New Year’s Eve night. Told in small, quotidian moments—by turns private, public, quietly tragic, and painfully hilarious—the T tells realer-to-life stories about the LGBTQ community than are often portrayed in mainstream media.
