On June 26, U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin), Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-New York) introduced the first-ever bipartisan U.S. Senate resolution to honor the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.
Stonewall is recognized by many as the event that sparked the modern-day LGBTQ-rights movement.
