The two authors will be feted at the Carl Sandburg Literary Awards Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 5:30 p.m. at The Isadore & Sadie Dorin Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt Rd.
Martin is best known for his epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, which inspired the HBO series Game of Thrones. Ewing is known for her works Ghosts in the Schoolyard: Racism and School Closings on Chicago’s South Side, among other items.
