“Si-fu: An Evening of Cantonese Opera” will make its Midwest debut at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts Performance Hall, 915 E. 60th St., on Tuesday, March 17, at 6:30 p.m.
This program will start with a pre-show talk by Ariel Fox, Ph.D., assistant professor of Chinese Literature in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations, Committee on Theater and Performance Studies, and The College, of the University of Chicago; as well as Eva Tam, American-Orient Performing Arts pPresident and one of the evening’s Si-fu.
The performance, which starts at 7 p.m. and runs approximately 90 minutes, will be immediately followed by a post-show reception with the artists. Tickets, including the pre-show talk and post-show reception, are $25, with $10 tickets for seniors, and $5 tickets for students and children 5 and younger. The performers will include Tam, Hei Yu Chan, Lai Yuk Chow, Wai Ling Ho, Janice Ng and Christie Wing Sum To.
