On April 23, former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel dropped off self-care kits for our clinical staff at Swedish Hospital, 5145 N. California Ave.
Anthony Guaccio—president/CEO of Swedish Hospital, a part of NorthShore University HealthSystem—accepted the donation along with several clinical leaders. “On behalf of everyone at Swedish, I want to thank Rahm Emanuel and [wife] Amy [Rule] for their generosity as well as that of everyone in our community who has donated supplies, food and services to hospitals everywhere,” he said.
“With the increased hand washing protocols we implemented to fight COVID-19, these kits, which include moisturizers, are greatly appreciated by our staff,” said Kathy Donofrio, chief nursing officer at Swedish Hospital. “The safety measures of hand washing, staying home and practicing social distancing are working to help flatten the curve in Chicago, and we ask everyone to stay the course.”
