The intersectional Late Show #OTVTonight is back, with a virtual event on OTV’s app and on Facebook Live that will air Saturday, April 17, at 8-9:30 p.m. CT.
Hosted by Open TV (OTV) founders Elijah McKinnon and Dr. Aymar Jean Christian, the event explores the art of TV through dynamic conversations, experimental activations, intergalactic performances and more.
The evening includes interviews with artists Zackary Drucker (OTV’s Southern for Pussy; HBO’s The Lady and the Dale) and Fatimah Asghar (OTV’s Brown Girls; One World’s If They Come For Us); a first look at programs coming to OTV, with Jenna Anast; performances by teaching artist E’mon Lauren, Chicago’s first youth poet laureate; and local singer-songwriter KAINA.
OTV is a platform for intersectional television, with artists and their visions at the center, and is a part of the exhibition The Long Dream that is currently on view at the Museum of Contemporary ARt.
