The Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) announced its line-up of virtual programs with award-winning writers, scholars and cultural icons in late April and throughout May.

Among LGBTQ participants/guests will be Fun Home memoirist Alison Bechdel, who will discuss life, comics and more on May 11; and actor Andrew Rannells (The Prom), who will team with writer/comedian Jessi Klein to talk with comedians/actresses Casey Wilson about Wilson’s memoir on May 12.

Some of the others in the line-up include Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Jhumpa Lahiri (April 28); theoretical physicist Michio Kaku, who will talk with actor LeVar Burton (Roots, Star Trek, Reading Rainbow) (April 29); University of Chicago law and ethic professor Martha Nussbaum, who will talk about her latest book, Citadels of Pride, systemic sexual abuse and toxic masculinity (May 13); and University of Chicago’s Geoffrey Stone, who will host the third of a three-part series on hate speech (May 27).
