The Columbia College Chicago Career Center and the college’s Student Diversity and Inclusion office are partnering to present a free March 4 online event featuring two notable trans/non-binary creatives/activists with Columbia College connections: Devlyn Camp and Joey Soloway.
On Friday, March 4, at 3 p.m. CT, the Zoom webinar Flipping the Script with Joey Soloway will feature Emmy Award-winning writer/director/producer Soloway—a former student in Columbia College’s Film and Video program and whose mother, writer Elaine Soloway, once taught at the college—in conversation with Camp, a Columbia College alum.
Soloway (creator of TV’s Transparent and I Love Dick), will be interviewed by Camp (creator of the Queer Serial LGBTQ history podcast) about how they make work spotlighting people of marginalized genders and identities, how they navigate resistance to change in the entertainment industry, and how their art-making career and activist career inform one another.
