The board of Berwyn’s 16th Street Theater announced that the award-winning, nationally acclaimed Equity theater company will close at the end of 2022.

A statement read, “For 15 inspiring seasons, plus two years of the pandemic, we have proudly carried on the vision of founder Ann Filmer to produce new plays that ignite dialogue, debate, and empathy among all in our diverse community. But season 15 is our last, and we will suspend all operations at the end of December.”

The production Man and Moon will run through Sunday, Nov. 13 at Oak Park’s Madison Street Theatre. Also, the Write Collective will share the last of four free virtual play readings on Friday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m.

In addition, there will be a party on Saturday, Dec. 3, 1-4 p.m., at the Berwyn spot The Outta Space, 6840 32nd St.
