Visiting the Dallas Wings on May 15 for the first of back-to-back contests, the Chicago Sky dropped its season opener 87-79 in WNBA action.

Chicago led 25-16 after one quarter but Dallas pulled to within three (43-40) at halftime. Then, the Wings’ Arike Ogunbowale scored 14 of her 25 points in the fourth quarter, while Teaira McCowan and Natasha Howard ended up with double-doubles, ESPN noted.

Marina Mabrey had 19 points and nine rebounds for Chicago, who had all five starters in double figures. Heralded rookie Angel Reese scored 12 points following a strong second half.

The Sky’s next game will also be against the Wings, taking place at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday, May 18, at 7 p.m.
