On Oct. 5, Chicago Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa married longtime partner Bryan Bautista in Logan Square.

Bautista was born and raised in Yakima, Washington and earned his B.A. from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Ramirez-Rosa told Windy City Times, “We met in 2012, shortly after Bryan moved to Chicago to work for a sexual health non-profit. I proposed on May 14, 2021, at Clear Creek Falls in Washington state’s Wenatchee National Forest.

Illinois Appellate Court Justice Ramon Ocasio was our officiant this past Saturday as we were legally wed before family, friends and co-workers.”

According to Politico Illinois Playbook, Cook County Commissioner Anthony Quezada and Ald. Jessie Fuentes—both members of the LGBTQ+ community—were among the guests.
