On April 24, FashionBar, in partnership with Howard Brown Health and Life is Work, held its annual Trans Media Fashion Show as part of Fashion Week. The event, which took place at Water Tower Place, 835 N. Michigan Ave., annually puts the spotlight on LGBTQ+ wellness.
This year’s show featured producer/creator Tony Long’s designs as well as selections from Brown Elephant Resale Shop; accessories and jewelry by local craftsmen and -women; a soiree for 30 on auction from Spirits and Spice; and participation from Sharaun, a noted model, motivational speaker, America’s Next Top Model finalist and creator of Model Tribe. Zahara Bassett of Life is Work once again served as emcee for the evening. The Broadway Youth Center was the beneficiary of the event.

At the start of the show Long took the stage and said, “I am very humbled, considering what is going on in the world. I want to tell my young queer friends to be yourself and be true to your truth.”
