—The Peruvian restaurant Tanta will be offering a special a la carte menu to treat Mom. Dishes will include tiradito de Navajas ($32) with razor clams, white fish, sunchoke leche de tigre, crispy capers, chalaca and canchita; lobster a la Nortena ($120), featuring a grilled whole lobster with cilantro rice, Cebichera sauce and criolla; osso buco ($85), with osso buco estofado with creamy quinoa pepian, goat cheese, crispy green kale and roasted baby rainbow carrots; and Endless Bond ($16)—consisting of coconut and passionfruit mousse filled with lemon and guava curd, with a crunchy touch of cornflakes and white chocolate.
—Join Aba on the patio for Mom’s favorite Mediterranean-inspired mezze and toast her with the Spring Bellini Tower, including blueberry, strawberry and kiwi bellinis for $110, plus tax (gratuity not included), or enjoy the special weekend sips a la carte. The Spring Bellini Tower is available exclusively Saturday, May 10-Sunday, May 11 during brunch (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), along with the regular brunch menu.
—At Bub City’s River North location, celebrate 11 a.m.-3 p.m. with brunch favorites like cinnamon sticky buns, New and Improved Daybreaker Burrito, and chicken and waffles. Sip espresso martinis and Bloody Marys for $6 each, plus tax, during Hangover Happy Hour from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Bub City will also be open for dine-in, delivery and carryout, serving the regular menu.
—In Oak Brook, Antico Posto will offer specials such as lemon butter shrimp with cacio e pepe risotto, pecorino romano and fresh basil; and strawberry and arugula salad with ricotta salata, honey-roasted pistachios, white balsamic vinaigrette in addition to your Italian-inspired favorites. End on a sweet note with tiramisu to share! Specials are available for dine-in, carryout and delivery from May 8-14.
—Bring your “Ema” to Ema for Mother’s Day and enjoy a special spring frittata with lump crab served with English peas, shaved asparagus, avocado, pickled Fresno chiles and parmesan, in addition to all of your mezze favorites. The dine-in special is available during weekend lunch in Glenview and weekend brunch in River North. Exclusive to the River North location, order a glass of Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, Domaine Landon “Amphibolite,” 2022, for Mom—poured tableside from a magnum bottle. Both Ema locations will be open for dinner on Sunday, May 11, serving the regular menu.
—Make this Mother’s Day unforgettable with a brunch buffet at Miru at The St. Regis Chicago. Treat Mom to a spread of Japanese specialties, brunch classics, pastries and artisan sweets, including a build-your-own trifle station. Indulge in a full selection of wine and cocktails, along with an interactive spritz bar that will feature fresh juices and herbs. The price per person is $125, plus tax (and service charge); it’s $65 for children aged 10 and younger, plus tax (and service charge). The price includes one complimentary spritz for Mom, with all other beverages additional.
—Carnivale, the Pan-Latin destination in Fulton Market, is celebrating moms this year with a special Mother’s Day buffet with seatings at 10 a.m.-3 p.m. for $70 per person (children ages 12 and under $25). With a menu curated by Executive Chef Carlos Garza, diners will enjoy a fusion of signature brunch favorites with a Pan-Latin twist. Reservations are available for parties up to 16 guests via Tock.
—Hotel EMC2’s the Albert aims to offer an elegant brunch buffet on Mother’s Day (11 a.m.-2 p.m.; $60/person). There will be an antipasti buffet (with roasted mint carrots, Sicilian mushrooms, Italian olives, cheeses, fig jam, ham, tortellini and more); main courses (eggs Benedict, lemon ricotta pancakes, herb-crusted ribeye, gnocchi, salmon and grilled lamb chops); and desserts (cakes, pies, cannoli, dark chocolate brownies, butter cookies and hazelnut mousse bar).
—Gold Coast restaurant The Bellevue Chicago invites guests to celebrate the women in their lives with a dining experience in the heart of the Gold Coast. Open Sunday, May 11, at 10 a.m.-9 p.m. (with last reservations at 7 p.m.), The Bellevue will have brunch and dinner specials. The former will include challah French toast, avocado toast and eggs Benedict while the latter will feature items such as filet mignon, Alaskan halibut and Mafaldine Bolognese (with veal, pork, beef and parmesan). —Honor the special woman in your life with a Mother’s Day dinner at UMMO. Take in UMMO’s a la carte menu, curated wines and special cocktails made just for her. UMMO is treating every Mom to a complimentary cocktail of choice to enjoy alongside menu favorites like the Mafaldine cacio e pepe, lamb tortelli, branzino alla Siciliana, and 22 W. Tiramisu.
—Make plans to head to L. Woods on Mother’s Day for Northwoods supper club favorites and specials including Queen and King Prime Rib of Beef Au Jus with the choice of side and horseradish cream, and strawberry rhubarb cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Raise a glass to Mom with a Strawberry Rhubarb Old Fashioned with Old Forester bourbon, fresh strawberries and rhubarb bitters. Specials are available for dine-in, carryout and delivery on May 10-11.
—There’ll be a French spread during brunch or dinner at Mon Ami Gabi in Lincoln Park. Treat mom to classics like truffle scrambled eggs and smoked salmon Benedict during brunch, or the fruit de mer selections and trout almondine during dinner. Still looking for the perfect gift? Celebrate Mom all weekend with Mon Ami Gabi’s Spring Afternoon Tea on Saturday, May 10.
—Alma at Hotel Zachary invites families to gather for a flora-filled afternoon featuring a Goldie’s Flower Shop pop-up and Spring Afternoon Tea experience. This Mother’s Day, guests will be welcomed with a single-stemmed rose before settling in for a curated tea service featuring Extra Regal Earl Grey, Soothing Sunshine Turmeric, Chamomile and Vanilla Bean Rooibos blends; a seasonal menu of light bites accompanies the service, featuring dill cucumber sandwiches, pastel macarons and raspberry lemon danishes. (In addition, Alma is offering spring afternoon tea on Sunday, May 25, starting at 1 p.m., and guests can indulge in the same tea menu and bites.)
Tickets for Mother’s Day tea are $60 per adult and $35 per child, with the option to add a curated pre-made bouquet or build a custom arrangement for an additional $35.
—On Sunday, May 11, The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant will offer a special Mother’s Day Menu to celebrate for $75 a person. Specialty-first courses include the Signature Lobster bisque; and whipped homemade ricotta with toasted focaccia, hot honey and Michigan sour cherry mostarda. Main courses include sautéed Alaskan halibut with braised artichokes, spring beans and basil pistou; along with the roasted Berkshire pork loin with cipollini onion agrodolce, asiago cream polenta and balsamic. Additionally, family style complements will be available, including the roasted garlic whipped potatoes; macaroni & cheese with cavatappi and four cheese mornay sauce; and smoked bacon and dried cherry vinaigrette Brussel Sprouts. —Lincoln Park spot Vinci will have a lot to offer on Mother’s Day at 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The buffet will include appetizers and desserts, and guests can select one main dish. Appetizer options include a cheese plate, poached shrimp with spicy sauce, meatballs, fruit and more. Vinci’s dessert buffet include chocolate cake, panna cotta with raspberry sauce, tiramisu with chocolate sauce, mini-cannolis and fresh berries. Main dishes will include banana-stuffed French toast, eggs Benedict, breakfast pizza, frittata and a variety of pasta dishes, as well as grilled salmon, chicken saltimbocc, and hand-made ravioli. The buffet is priced at $42 per adult and $22 per child, plus tax and gratuity.
—The stylish spot Dearly Beloved may be known for its cocktails, but it is offering a special brunch on Sunday, May 11, at 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Some of the dishes will include ricotta pancakes with lemon and stewed blueberries; steak and eggs; Croque Madame with Black Forest ham, bechamel, an over-easy egg and Gruyere cheese on sourdough; roasted beet salad; and truffle fries.
—Here’s an artful endeavor: The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and Marisol plan to provide a complete experience for mothers. This year, visitors can enjoy a prix fixe brunch at Marisol, two-for-one admission when they visit with their mom and MCA Store specials on May 11. Marisol’s $45 Mothers’ Day brunch—which includes a kids’ menu and a surprise for moms—will consist of items such as cruffin with satsuma marmalade and jasmine pastry cream; turmeric granola matcha yogurt or tigelle with asparagus, pecorino, dill, labneh and soft egg; and French toast, avocado latke or green shakshuka.
—And speaking of artful: This Mother’s Day, Levain Bakery is celebrating all the moms (and mom figures!) who are usually behind the camera. Stop by the West Loop location at 840 W. Randolph St on Wed., May 7, at 3-6 p.m. for a complimentary professional portrait with purchase—whether you want a headshot, a glamour shot or just a sweet memory.
—Let Mom enjoy a well-deserved morning off this Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, and treat her to something special at Northbrook’s Prairie Grass Cafe. From 10 a.m.to 1:30 p.m., delight in a fresh, locally inspired buffet brunch; then, starting at 5 p.m., enjoy an a la carte dinner featuring chef specials and the full menu. The expansive brunch menu will include cold starters and salads; entrees and sides such as parmesan-crusted whitefish with caper-lemon sauce; breads and pastries; savory selections like an omelet station; and sweets and fruits. —Chef Devon Quinn’s greenhouse-sourced fare will be the star (besides Mom, of course) at eden. 2734 W. Roscoe St. Highlights will include gluten-free quinoa pancakes with blueberry thyme jam; steak & eggs with chimichurri and fingerlings; farmed mushroom omelet with Gruyère; shrimp & grits with salsa macha and fried egg; and specials like crab Louise salad and lox bagels. Also, you can add a floral touch by pre-ordering a springtime bouquet to have waiting at the table; there are three sizes—Radiant ($25), Everlasting ($30) and Serenity ($40).
—Petite Vie (Western Springs) and Vistro Prime (Hinsdale) will both offer specials for Mother’s Day. The former will offer brunch specials such as shrimp cocktail and eggs Benedict; dinner offerings will include shrimp cocktail, marinated salmon and strawberry shortcake. Tuna poke, warm shrimp salad and filet Oscar will be among Vistro Prime’s specials. Moms who visit either restaurant will receive a calla lily from local floral shop Phillip’s Flowers.
—Join The Smith for Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 11, at 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.. Indulge in the Mother’s Day special: truffled egg toast—soft scrambled eggs, wild mushrooms, truffle aioli, pecorino and cracked pepper. Additionally, enjoy the regular brunch offering cocktail for free with the purchase of a dish from the regular brunch menu, such as the smoked salmon potato waffle, shrimp + grits, goat cheese omelet or vanilla bean French toast with crème brûlée battered caramelized apples. —Treat your mama to some sweets with a Mother’s Day cookie decorating workshop at Little Goat. Join the restaurant’s pastry chef at 5:30 p.m. on Wed., May 7, as she shows you how to create your own edible cookie work of art. And to “sweeten” the deal, your ticket purchase includes your choice of wine or n/a beverage as well as a small savory bite from the kitchen. Grab your mom (or anyone you want to bring!), grab a drink, and get decorating! The $45 ticket includes cookie decorating supplies and instruction, one glass of wine or n/a beverage and one savory bite.

—Offshore Rooftop is making Mother’s Day unforgettable with a lively brunch buffet experience, complete with panoramic views from the world’s largest rooftop and the option to indulge in bottomless mimosas. Enjoy an indulgent spread of sweet and savory delights across breakfast, lunch and dessert stations, crafted by Executive Chef Timoleon Letsos. Menu items include a mix of traditional favorites like lox & bagels, maple French toast and prime rib, along with specialty items like tortilla Espanola and truffle grilled asparagus. As a special touch, each mom and mother figure will receive a complimentary long-stem rose. —This Mother’s Day, Chicagoans can make Mother’s Day a little sweeter with the perfect treat from Sweet Mandy B’s. The Lincoln Park and Streeterville locations are whipping up selections of Mother’s Day items such as a six-pack of cupcakes ($30) along with our cut-out cookies ($4.25 each) and more. Guests can also pre-order custom cakes with a floral theme starting at $38.
—The Gold Coast restaurant Alpana will host a special Mother’s Day brunch. For $65/adult and $30/child (and be sure to request those high chairs in advance), items will include cinnamon rolls (for the table), along with items such as cauliflower bisque, Faroe Islands salmon, vegan beluga lentils, short rib Benedict, steak frites, blueberry “cheesecake” French toast and raspberry sorbet, among others. Reservations are 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

—Fatpour Tap Works is launching brunch at the Lincolnwood location (7244 N. Lincoln Ave.) starting on Mother’s Day, at 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Items will include FP’s BA Breakfast Burger ($17.25), featuring waffle-battered bacon, over-easy egg, smashed tater tots, maple sriracha mayo, extra American cheese and a toasted English muffin bun served with golden brunch potatoes. Other offerings include Honey Honey Chicken & Waffles ($16.25); the Chi-Town Skillet ($16.25); and cinnamon bread-pudding bites ($11.75), with caramel and sweet cream cheese icing dip.
—Rosebud plans to offer comforting dishes for mom’s big day. Begin your meal with the spot’s shrimp de jonghe, followed by the flavors of Zuppa di Pesce—a hearty medley of shrimp, calamari, octopus, mussels, clams and the fish of the day, all served over linguine in a spicy tomato white wine sauce and accompanied by garlic bread. For the main course, choose from options like Mediterranean branzino, prime rib, or lobster almonde. Finish on a sweet note with a slice of our decadent Italian ricotta cheesecake. As a token of appreciation, every mom will receive a rose from Rosebud, while supplies last.

—Why not try a French steakhouse? Housed in Chicago’s Belle Époque building, the unique Art Nouveau-inspired space, La Grande Boucherie will have Mother’s Day specials such as tuna tartare, grilled Atlantic swordfish and mille-feuille in addition to its regular expansive menu.
—La Serre (307 N. Green St.) invites guests to celebrate Mother’s Day with a special à la carte brunch menu featuring the French omelet with wilted spinach, Boursin cheese, dill and crème fraîche; a ham-and-cheese galette with buckwheat crêpe, sunny-side up egg, Parisian ham, Comté cheese and chives; thick-cut French toast topped with whipped crème fraîche and Vermont maple syrup; and a savory mushroom scramble served with Gruyère cheese fondue and grilled sourdough. Brunch will be served during regular hours on Mother’s Day, and reservations are strongly encouraged.
—Treat your mom or motherly figure to an elegant tea service held in the lobby of the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago. Enjoy traditional finger sandwiches, buttery scones and delicate pastries paired with premium Rishi teas. (Vegan and gluten-free options available by request.) Also, a bubbly cart will offer mom a glass of sparkling wine. FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar, the property’s signature American restaurant, will also be open for dinner service.
—Chicagoans are invited to celebrate Mom in style with brunch at Uvae Kitchen & Wine Bar in Andersonville from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The three-course menu is $54 per person and includes unlimited non-alcoholic brunch beverages like coffee, tea, soda and juice; guests can choose to add bottomless boozy brunch drinks, house wines and beer for $26 per person. The three-course Mother’s Day menu will include selections like Nutella croissants, deviled eggs, smoked salmon with mini-bagels, baby lamb chops, brioche French toast, lobster cake Benedict, prosciutto and Gruyere omelet, steak and eggs, Grand Marnier creme brulee and more. A kids’ option will also be available for $20 per person (ages 10 and under) and will offer scrambled eggs, French toast and fruit, milk and cookies as well as unlimited juice, milk or soda.
—Mercat a la Planxa, located in the iconic Blackstone Hotel, is celebrating with a Catalan-inspired brunch menu and a complimentary mimosa or glass of cava for all moms. The lineup features bold, seasonal dishes like a burrata salad with strawberries, toasted pine nuts and ramp vinaigrette ($18); smoked salmon with an everything bagel and classic toppings ($18); and a Croque Madame with serrano ham and manchego béchamel.
—Basque restaurant Asador Bastian will open for Mother’s Day lunch starting at 11 a.m. Menu specials include “Mother’s” Strip Loin from Takamori; spider crab arroz cremoso with green garlic; and Coeur de Macaron—a raspberry rose heart shaped macaron with white chocolate ice cream, raspberry compote and crystallized rose petals.
—Laurel, an upscale dining establishment nestled within The Talbott Hotel in the Gold Coast, invites guests to celebrate Mother’s Day with a special offering available on Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. In honor of mothers and female caregivers, the restaurant will provide a complimentary Mama-rita—a unique version of its house margarita made with Tres Agaves. (A non-alcoholic version is available, too.) Menu items include egg-and-pork belly sandwich, shakshuka and scallion labneh, branzino, a joojeh-battered chicken sandwich and much more.

—LondonHouse Chicago (85 E. Wacker Dr.) offers two indulgent ways to celebrate Mother’s Day this year: a refined Spring Tea at Bridges Lobby Bar and the new Sky High Cinnamon Roll (which weighs in at three pounds each) at LH Rooftop. Available daily at 12-3 p.m. through June 20, the Spring Tea at Bridges Lobby Bar is a charming afternoon escape, and is ideal for honoring Mom. The Sky High Cinnamon Roll is available exclusively at LH Rooftop during weekend brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; this three-pound cinnamon roll is crafted with Japanese milk bread dough and two types of cinnamon—and is finished tableside with a dramatic pour of 16 ounces of real vanilla-bean glaze.
—Skokie’s Bar Siena North Shore invites guests to celebrate Mother’s Day with a festive brunch buffet on Sunday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The North Shore location will offer an expansive spread of breakfast and lunch favorites for $49.99 per adult and $19.99 for children ages 7–12. (Children 6 and younger dine free.)
Guests can enjoy a wide array of offerings, including breakfast favorites such as French toast, turkey sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and breakfast potatoes, along with a smoked salmon station featuring traditional accompaniments. Signature dishes include Caesar and Bar Siena Chopped Salad, mini-roasted meatballs with ricotta and polenta bread, rigatoni alla vodka and bucatini cacio e pepe with belper knolle cheese—and don’t forget the pizza. For dessert, guests can dine on mini-bombolini and various pastries.
—Mano a Mano, in Logan Square, will celebrate Mom at 12-9 p.m. There will be an Italian lunch or dinner featuring authentic hand-made pasta, sauces and a warm atmosphere. In addition, patrons can add floral arrangements or a customized “Eat Well” cutting board to surprise Mom.
—And for a really different experience, try AIRE Ancient Baths at 800 W. Superior St. Besides such offerings as the bath of 1,000 jets (Balneum) and the Himalayan salt ritual is the Signature Wine Experience ($700 for two people). Among other things, you’ll submerge yourself completely for 30 minutes in the antioxidant properties of the Spanish Ribera del Duero red grapes—yes, you’ll take a wine bath. During this time you will enjoy a 15 minute cranial massage while a honey hair mask will be applied; and there will be a special tasting that includes a selection of cheese. Ah—the good life…
