Pride Parade and festivals

Andersonville Midsommarfest returns June 13-15 along Clark Street from Foster Avenue to Gregory. Of note to LGBTQ+ attendees is the Balmoral Pride Stage, which will feature a takeover from the crew behind Queen! at Smartbar, performances by the city’s top drag artists and other performers. A $10 donation is suggested for entry.
A few weeks later, Chicago Pride Fest takes over North Halsted Street from Addison to Grace. Headliners this year include Jesse McCartney, Chrissy Chlapecka and Deborah Cox. A $20 donation is suggested for entry.

The Chicago Pride Parade, the month’s centerpiece event, steps off at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 29 in Lake View. This year’s parade takes on the theme of “United in Pride” and will be led by TaskForce Prevention & Community Services.


Parties and other social events

FREQUENCi, a house music party organized by B.BLYSS! Events, celebrates Pride 3-8 p.m. on June 1 at the Foundation Room, 329 N. Dearborn St. Tickets cost $18.
The Equality Illinois Pride Kick-Off Brunch is also happening June 1, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Venue West. At the reception, Kristen Kaza of Slo ‘Mo and businessman Mark Liberson will be honored for their community work. Tickets cost $75 with discounted tickets available.

The Chicago Black Gay Men’s Caucus kicks off Pride Month on June 1 with its Spring Fling from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at 3700 S. Iron St. Tickets for the full event cost $125.
Learn how queer South Asian artists explore and understand their dual identities at Bridging the Divide: Art, Healing & Community Support, a free event hosted by Trikone and the South Asia Institute. Happening from 2–5 p.m. on June 7 at the South Asia Institute, 1925 S. Michigan Ave. Admission is free, but registration is required.
Make a splash at the All-Inclusive DIVE Into PRIDE Annual Pool Party 2025, the annual Pride poolside celebration. Hosted at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, 505 N. Michigan Ave., this vibrant event kicks off at 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. Tickets start at $67.20.
Slo ‘Mo is kicking off its summer season of the Old Gold 30+ party from 2-7 p.m. June 8 at Guild Row, 3130 N. Rockwell St. Tickets cost $20-$25.
TRANSDUCERZ is a retro-style day rave celebrating the transgender community’s major impact on the electronic music scene and raising money for the Trans Youth Emergency Project. 3:30-8 p.m. June 8 at California Clipper, 1002 N. California Ave. Tickets cost $10.
The Slo ‘Mo Rodeo honors the Black, brown, femme and queer roots of country music-and the genre’s current cultural moment. Line dance sessions begin at 9 p.m. sharp at Sleeping Village, 3734 W. Belmont Ave. Tickets start at $20.
Pride Night at the Shedd Aquarium returns 6-10:30 p.m. June 14 at the iconic aquarium, 1200 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The party includes DJs and an ocean-themed drag showcase.
The annual Trans Ice Cream Social takes place 5-7 p.m. on June 16 at the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St. Tickets are free, but RSVP before they run out.

Lighthouse Foundation is bringing back its Black LGBTQ+ Beach Day from noon-7 p.m. on June 21 at 63rd Street Beach. Last year’s inaugural beach event drew more than 400 attendees, and this year is expected to be bigger.
Circuitmom & Dreambrite present the Love Revolution Party at 9 p.m. on June 21 at House of Blues Chicago, 329 N. Dearborn St. Tickets start at $68.50.
Eden Chicago’s Pride Fest Party is happening June 21-22 at the River, 2909 N. Sheffield Ave. This is one of many parties happening around Chicago Pride Fest and could be a great stop in lieu of the festival or for afters. Tickets cost $20.
The Lesbian Social Club Pride Fest Takeover
kicks off 2 p.m.-midnight on June 21 at D.S. Tequila, 3352 N. Halsted St. Tickets cost $22.26.
TaskForce Prevention and Community Services is hosting its annual Pride Mini-Ball from 5-9 p.m. June 25. This evening will be a celebration of the LGBTQ+ nonprofit rooted in the rich legacy of ballroom culture. TaskForce, 9 N. Cicero Ave.
The All White Yacht Gay Pride Kick Off Party, hosted by Chicago Urban Pride, takes place 7-10 p.m. June 27 at Anita Dee Yacht Charters, 200 N. Breakwater Access. Tickets cost $60.86.
A number of lesbian party groups join together for the fourth installment of Super Sapphic, which is taking over Metro and Smartbar, 3730 N. Clark St., 9 p.m.-close on June 27. Tickets cost $31.

Chicago Urban Pride’s Color Me Pride Fashion Show and Brunch takes place 4-8 p.m. on June 28 at the Grand Ballroom, 6351 S. Cottage Grove Ave. Tickets start at $25.56.

Chicago Urban Pride’s Gay Pride Picnic
returns noon-8 p.m. June 29 at Jackson Park, 6401 S. Stony Island Ave. Tickets are free.
The Lesbian Social Club is throwing its Pride After Party from 1-6 p.m. at Moe’s cantina Wrigleyville, making it the perfect hangout after the Pride Parade. Tickets are $22.26.
Drag, theater, concerts and other live shows

Experience Angels in America live on stage this Pride Month, as Invictus Theatre Company presents Tony Kushner’s landmark play about love, loss and survival during the AIDS crisis. Performances run through Sept. 7 at Invictus Theatre, 1106 W. Thorndale Ave. Tickets start at $35.
Arts Against AIDS, a benefit for Season of Concern honoring the 40th anniversary of the Biscotto-Miller Fund, takes place June 3 from 7-9 p.m. at the Goodman Theatre, 170 N. Dearborn St. Performers set to appear include E. Faye Butler, Mark David Kaplan, Chuck Larkin, Keely Vasquez and Honey West. Tickets cost $44.52.
Better Boobie Burlesque presents RAINBOW: A Pride Show from 7-9 p.m. on June 6 at the Newport Theater, 956 W. Newport Ave. Tickets cost $23.18.
Transcendent Souls, a Celebration of Trans Identity and Sound takes place 7-8 p.m. on June 6 at Wicker Park Lutheran Church, 1500 N. Hoyne Ave.
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Elder, Goosby & Price concert features violinist Randall Goosby performing music by pioneering American composer Florence Price. June 5-7 at Chicago Symphony Orchestra, 220 S. Michigan Ave. Ticket prices vary, but start at $49.
Chicago drag queen Neutral Gena’s Perfect Pride Party returns 4-11 p.m. on June 8 to Color Club, 4146 N. Elston Ave., featuring DJ sets and drag performances from the city’s top talent. Tickets start at $35.02.
The ladies behind IMHO: The Show are returning to Chicago with a live rendition of their podcast, happening 7:15 p.m. on June 8 at the Den Theatre, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. Ticket prices vary.

In Coming Out to Dead People, comedian Ricky Sim shares his chaotic stand-up about growing up as a gay, asian immigrant in New York and coming out to his conservative Chinese-Malaysian mom. 8 p.m. on June 14 at the Annoyance, 851 W. Belmont Ave.
Dim Sum & Drag’s Really Gay Pride Brunch features a lineup of AAPI drag performers, happening noon June 14 at Furama, 4936 N. Broadway. Tickets cost $44.29.
Enjoy an evening of comedy from bisexual women at the bi-monthly comedy showcase, The Bi Wives Club.This evening of laughter happens 7-8:30 p.m. June 15 at Dorothy, 2500 W. Chicago Ave. Tickets cost $16.24.
Goddesses, Rage! – Artemis Singers’ Pride Concert and Dance takes place 7-9:30 p.m. on June 14 at VanderCook College of Music’s Great Hall, 3125 S. Federal St. Tickets cost $25.
Moats Entertainment presents Out & Amplified: A Night of queer Music featuring VINCINT at 7:30 p.m. June 20 at the Riviera Theatre, 4746 N. Racine Ave.
Out and Proud: A Rainbow Icon Celebration
brings Melissa Young and Nick Sula to Chicago with their historical hit show. Young will perform music from beloved LGBTQ+ icons, matching them to significant moments in our history. 7 p.m. June 19-20. Tickets cost $26.
Amplify Queer Joy, happening 7-8:30 p.m. on June 23 at Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St., is an evening of storytelling and improv theatre that centers stories of LGBTQ+ joy. Tickets start at $12.51.
OM Mission by Zahra Baker and Shanta Nurullah shares unsung histories of lesbian Blues women in the 1920s and 1930s, while honoring Black lesbians today in this show directed by Kezia Waters. OM Mission runs June 20-28 at the Den Theatre, 1311 N. Milwaukee Ave.

PlayLab PlayDate: Pride Month Storytime happens 11 a.m.-noon on June 11 at the Field Museum, 1400 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
The !Orgullo y Allegria Family Festival!Is a free, kid-friendly Pride celebration of diversity and creativity. 1-4 p.m. June 21 at 1653 W. 35th St.
United Northwest Side is hosting a Far Northwest Side Family Pride celebration from 2:30-5:30 p.m. June 22 at Color Club, 4146 N. Elston Ave.
OUT and About at the Lake: TGNC Family Beach Day, hosted by Trans Up Front Illinois, is happening 1-4 p.m. on June 22 at Hollywood Beach.
Hora del Cuento de Drag at the Lozano Library Branch, 1805 S. Loomis St. 11 a.m.-noon on June 25.
Youth-Led Sexual Health and HIV Workshop with Lurie Children’s Hospital from 1:30-3 p.m. on June 26 at the Lincoln Belmont Library Branch, 1659 W. Melrose St.
Queer Prom’s GAGA GALA is a celebration for LGBTQ+ youth 21 and under. It’s happening 6-11 p.m. on June 27 at the National Museum of Mexican Art, 1852 W. 19th St. Tickets are free.
Navy Pier Pride returns from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on June 28, featuring live music, LGBTQ+ art, educational programming and resources. Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Ave.
Those looking to celebrate Pride in a calm environment can do so at Sensory Friendly Pride: A Peaceful Place to Celebrate, happening 3-5 p.m. June 28 at Third Space in Lake View Presbyterian Church, 716 W. Addison St.
The Unity Park Advisory Council is holding its first annual Pride! In Unity Parkcelebration from 12:30-2:30 p.m. June 29 at 2636 N. Kimball Ave. This family-friendly celebration will have chalk art, DIY Pride kites, and a mini-Pride Parade.
Family Pride Day at Gallagher Way, happening 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. on June 29, gives families a nearby alternative to the Chicago Pride Parade. The event will feature live music from Rock & Roll Playhouse, photo ops, games and more. Gallagher Way, 3635 N. Clark St.

The Jarvis Square Family Pride celebration returns with live music and activities for people of all ages. 2-9 p.m. on June 29 at R Public House, 1500 W. Jarvis Ave.

Hear from a panel of LGBTQ+ trailblazers at the Queer Elder History Panel with Gerber/Hart Library and Archives and the LGBTQ+ Intergenerational Dialogue Project. 7-8:30 p.m. June 20 at Dorothy, 2500 W. Chicago Ave. Tickets will go fast, and cost $19.76.
Mike McMains of Tours With Mike is offering a series of Chicago LGBTQ+ Stories Tours throughout Pride Month. Join him June 7 for the South Side Bus Tour; June 14 for the North Side Walking Tour; or June 21 for the Downtown Walking Tour. The Closet Unlocked is holding a panel discussion on Mobilizing Our Pride Communities, featuring Ald. Join Sisters in Cinema for When Past Meets Power, a free, day-long community event celebrating Black queer stories, intergenerational healing and cultural memory in Chicago’s South Shore. The event takes place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on June 7 at Sisters in Cinema Media Arts Center, 2310 E. 85th St.. Admission is free, but donations and registration are encouraged.
The June edition of The Podcast Salon, presented by the Qube features three podcasts centering Black LGBTQ+ voices. Hosted by Anna DeShawn, writer of Windy City Times’ BLACKlines newsletter, this event happens 6-8:30 p.m. on June 13 at Black Alphabet, 3850 S. Indiana Ave. Tickets cost $15.
In Forgotten Fires of Pride: A Fleeting and Fierce Zoom Webinar, queer trailblazers from often overlooked areas within the LGBTQ+ movement will unpack the personal and political battles that defined their lives, while issuing a call to action on today’s urgent threats. The discussion happens 3-5 p.m. on June 15 via Zoom.

Sports

The Chicago Cubs Pride Celebration happens June 12, when the Cubs face off against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 7:05 p.m. at Wrigley Field, 1060 W. Addison St.
Off the Dribble and Swish Queer Basketball Club host a Pride Basketball Day of Play from 2:30-4:30 p.m. June 14 at the ComEd Recreation Center at Addams Park, 1434 S. Loomis St. This free event features a 3×3 tournament, basketball mini-games and other forms of community building.
The White Sox Pride at the Park celebration happens June 18 when the team takes on the St. Louis Cardinals at 6:40 p.m. at Rate Field, 333 W. 35th St.
Read & Run Chicago is hosting a Running Tour of Valerie Taylor’s novel The Girls in 3-B, during which the group will stop at real-life queer hangouts from Chicago history and discuss the book’s characters. The run starts and ends at Vuori, 1003 N. Rush St., where there will be post-run snacks and a lecture from Gerber/Hart. 6-8 p.m. June 24. Tickets cost $17.85.
The Proud to Run: Pride Race returns June 28 with a 5k walk, a 5k run and a 10k run for people to participate in, raising money to support LGBTQ+ organizations in Chicago. 400 W. Montrose Harbor Dr.
Art galleries and installations

The Center on Halsted is hosting an Art Gallery Opening from 6-8 p.m. on June 6 for its new exhibition, featuring works by artists Kurt Fondriest and Adam Thomas. Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St.
“Dulce Sueño” is an exhibition curated by artist José Felix Rosa Castro, is a show examining the tension between queerness and Puerto Rican identity. Through July 19 at El Schomburg, 2538 W. Division St.
In Connecting Threads—Africa Fashion in Chicago, on view at the Field Museum, through June 29, local designers celebrate their heritage, culture and communities by creating collections inspired by items in the museum’s collections. Some pieces in the exhibit take on LGBTQ+ themes and celebrate gender fluidity, according to the Sun-Times. The Field Museum, 1400 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
The Art Institute of Chicago unveils work by Frida Kahlo in Frida Kahlo’s Month in Paris: A Friendship with Mary Reynolds, which focuses on the trailblazing Mexican artist’s brief but pivotal encounter with bookbinder and artist Mary Reynolds. This exhibition closes July 13. Art Institute of Chicago, 111 S. Michigan Ave.
In The First Homosexuals: The Birth of a New Identity, 1869-1939, curator John Katz examines how understandings of gay identity have evolved since the term “homosexual” was coined. Through July 26 at Wrightwood 659, 659 W. Wrightwood Ave.
Stop by the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago this month to check out artist Edie Fake’s The Free Clinic For Gender Affirming Care mural, which imagines a world of access and open expression. Through March 29, 2026, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago, 220 E. Chicago Ave.
