A WNBA investigation determined that reports of racist fan behavior directed at Chicago Sky All-Star Angel Reese during a recent Sky game at the Indiana Fever were “not substantiated,” according to Yahoo! Sports.

The statement read, “We have investigated the report of racist fan behavior in the vicinity of the court during the May 17, 2025, Chicago Sky at Indiana Fever game. Based on information gathered to date, including from relevant fans, team and arena staff, as well as audio and video review of the game, we have not substantiated it.
“The WNBA is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for everyone and will continue to be vigilant in enforcing our fan code of conduct.”
Said investigation resulted from allegations that surfaced after the high-profile game that included a flagrant foul of Reese by star Fever player Caitlin Clark.
In a statement that Windy City Times received, Chicago Sky Chief Executive Officer and President Adam Fox said, “We appreciate the quick action by the league and the Indiana Fever to take this matter seriously and to investigate. This process demonstrates the league’s strong stance on stopping hate at all WNBA games and events, and we will continue to support those efforts.”
In other news, the Sky fell to 0-4 on the season after the team lost to the Phoenix Mercury 94-89—after leading by as much as 16 points—at PHX Arena on May 27. Ariel Atkins scored 21 points while Reese had 15 rebounds. The Sky return home to play the Dallas Wings inside Wintrust Arena on Thursday, May 29.
