On June 7 in WNBA action, the Chicago Sky (2-5) fell to the Indiana Fever (4-4)—who played without Caitlin Clark—79-52 at the United Center.

The loss made history as the game marked the first-ever WNBA game in the United Center. Almost 20,000 attended the game—the largest attendance in Sky history.

No Sky player scored in double figures, as Kamilla Cardoso and Rebecca Allen led the team with eight points each; Ariel Atkins only ended up with four points as she endured a horrendous night, making only two of 11 attempts. However, Angel Reese’s 12 rebounds were the highest among either team.

Next, the Sky head east to play the New York Liberty for the second time this season on Tuesday, June 10, in the Barclays Center.

On the same date, Chicago Stars FC split points on the road, earning a 2-2 draw with Angel City FC in Los Angeles.

Despite four of their regular starters missing and finding themselves down 1-0 at the half, the Stars rallied. Nadia Gomes and Ally Schlegel scored for Chicago; Gomes’ goal was her first NWSL score, in her 14th NWSL appearance. Halle Mackiewicz and Manaka Hayashi made their first NWSL starts.

The Stars will next play the Seattle Reign FC, on Saturday, June 14, at 4 p.m. CT at Soldier Field.
