The unique richness of sculpted bronze tile breathes a touch of the historic, a feel of the ancient, into the classic decor of the lower level powder room designed for the House Beautiful Makeover Showhouse, opening Sept. 12 in Glencoe.

The Foundry Masters line of bronze tile, created by Chicago sculptor Denise Siegel and available through Materials Marketing, LTD, ‘presents a hand-hewn, rustic look that reminds me of ancient Norman scrollwork patterns,’ said Tony Stavish, A. W. Stavish Designs, who designed the Showhouse’s lower level powder room. ‘These unique tiles look aged in this wonderful way but not distressed, as though they came off the floor of a castle or were pulled out of a castle wall detail.’

The powder room will also be featured in the October issue of House Beautiful.

The House Beautiful Makeover Showhouse, with rooms designed by nationally renowned designers, runs Sept. 12-Oct. 13. Proceeds will benefit the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago.

Bronze sculpture and custom tile by Chicago sculptor Denise Siegel are nationally distributed. See www.newbronzeagetile.com or email denisesiegel@earthlink.net.
