Launching from Dock 3, for a three-hour cruise, the Lambda Legal Defense Fund sold out all tickets for its third premier Pride weekend kickoff event—a sunset cruise aptly named “Ladies on the Lake.”

Gliding down the Chicago River and then meandering along Chicago’s lakefront, guests were treated to breathtaking views of the city’s skyline as the sun slowly droped behind the buildings.

The weather was perfect and the time seemed to fly by as the Lambda supporters enjoyed food, drink and dancing aboard the boat, aptly named Chicago’s Fair Lady.

Jim Bennett, Lambda’s Midwest regional director and Robbin Burr, director on the national board, announced that because of the success of this event, a sister event will take place in the winter called “Ladies get Lei-ed,” featuring a Hawaiian luau-themed festival.
