Megan Schenk, aka Trigger Jane, 26, has been a performer for Gurlesque Burlesque, Chix Mix Productions, Chicago King’s Kingdom Come, and the Girlie-Q Variety Show. She is currently getting her non-for-profit brainchild, ‘Heartless Bitch Entertainment’ underway. Thus far, ‘Heartless Bitch Entertainment’ has included fundraisers every second Saturday of the month at Spin with proceeds going to women in the arts, the AIDS Marathon and others.
Later fundraisers are aimed to raise money for IDKE (International Drag King Festival) and PHAT Camp, a self-esteem awareness camp for young girls. Megan sees her work as an opportunity to give back to the community, which has provided her a platform for her performance. ‘Heartless Bitch Productions’ provides an outlet for people to express themselves, she said, an opportunity she thinks is imperative to the community. In addition to performing, Megan is an online columnist for DykeDiva.com.
She is currently applying to Columbia College to study production and writing.
