Lady Gaga was the show to see over this past weekend.

Bringing her Monster Ball Tour to Rosemont Theatre for three sold-out nights, this lady brought the goods; she has come a long way since her debut with Lollapalooza in 2007 and her performance at the Windy City Gay Idol finals in 2008. It is hard to believe that someone with a relatively short career can compete with artists who have had decades of hits, and somehow she pulled it off like a 23-year-old Madonna. Part of the experience was the crowd—consisting mainly of gays and their gals dressing like Gaga—dancing in the aisles before, during and after the show.

Lady Gaga entertained from the moment she hit the stage, coming out of a moving cube for “Just Dance” and wearing a red bikini for “Poker Face.” Giving props to her fan base, she donates money from the show to LGBT homeless youth and stated, “Hands up for love, unity and gay fucking pride.” She closed the outrageous performance with “Paparazzi” and an encore of “Bad Romance” in white smoke. Gaga ruled in 2009 and, with performances like this, she could take 2010 as well.
