Chicago resident Bill Stewart was appointed to Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation’s (GLAAD) 35-member national board of directors.
Stewart is the senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Kmart Corporation. He has been involved in a number of non-profits, and is also the executive sponsor of the Sears Holdings Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender employee association.
‘My community involvement has shown me that GLAAD’s mission and focus on media portrayal of our lives is a fundamental way to change hearts and minds,’ Stewart said in a GLAAD press release.
Morten to be honored
Mary F. Morten, interim executive director of the Chicago Foundation for Women, will be among those recognized at the Anti-Defamation League’s 15th Annual Women of Achievement Awards Dinner.
