The Lesbians Who Tech Chicago Happy Hour—a free event for women in the queer community who work in and around the technology sector (and the women who love them)—took place on the second-floor patio and bar of The Brixton, 5420 N. Clark St., on Aug. 7.

In a friendly business-casual setting, amidst vintage high-backed sofas in a cozy sea of leather and wood, the craft cocktails were flowing as a diverse crowd of women in professions such as web development, pharma, education, advertising and digital design networked and connected.

Organizer Lisa Martinez has brought this San Francisco-based concept to Chicago to get women with similar interests together in a space to meet new people, share ideas, and increase visibility of females in a field that tends to be more male-dominated. The Brixton event is the third of ongoing monthly events, each at a different location. Check out lesbianswhotech.org for information on future events.
