Area HIV/AIDS service providers met recently to decide on policy priorities for 2008.

On Dec. 10, AIDS Foundation of Chicago’s (AFC) Service Providers Council Advocacy and Policy Committee met to decide where to focus its energy on lobbying efforts next year.

According to AFC’s Jim Pickett, AFC will most likely be highlighting prevention next year, but will also focus on housing and care and treatment agenda items. Pickett said the goal is to have the organization’s 2008 policy priorities finished in January, in time for the start of the session for both Illinois’ General Assembly and the U.S. Congress.
