Howard Brown Health Center is hosting a cultural-competency course for nurses Saturday, May 5, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Chamberlain College of Nursing, 3300 N. Campbell Ave., room 220.
Among other things, the course (part of the HEAL curriculum) aims to help nurses understand the lives and concerns of the older LGBT patient; and how they can effectively communicate with and care for patients.
