Gals in tutus and guys in tights battle it out this week with simultaneous productions of the ballet classic, Giselle, by the Salt Creek Ballet at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, April 15-16, and the American Ballet Theatre at the Civic Opera House, April 19-24. The 1841 Adolphe Adam score tells the tale of a young woman unlucky in love, surrounded by the ghosts—The Wilis, they are called—of young girls who died before their intended marriages.
