Two LGBT contingents participated in the City of Chicago Memorial Day Parade May 23, 2015.

The Chicago Chapter of the American Veterans for Equal Rights carried the American flag, the rainbow flag and the flags of each branch of the armed services. Behind the LGBT veterans banner and color guard, the Lakeside Pride Freedom Marching Band fired up the crowd with a medley of the songs of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard and the Village People’s “In The Navy”, an arrangement by Lakeside’s Roy Freeman and Christy Zurcher of Lakeside.
