On Sunday, May 16, at 11 a.m. CT, Women and Children First will host the virtual panel discussion “Documenting LGBTQ+ Histories” on its Crowdcast Channel.

Centering on the release of Diana Souhami’s new book No Modernism Without Lesbians, this event will feature Souhami; Windy City Times co-founder and Chicago Reader Publisher Tracy Baim; and literary scholar Terry Castle.

No Modernism Without Lesbians is about how a singular group of women in a pivotal time and place—Paris, between the world wars—fostered the birth of the Modernist movement. The women included Sylvia Beach, Bryher, Natalie Barney and Gertrude Stein.

Gerber/Hart Library and Archives is co-sponsoring the event.
