Moby Dyke: An Obsessive Quest to Track Down the Last Remaining Lesbian Bars in America by Burton and Who Needs Gay Bars?: Bar-Hopping through America’s Endangered LGBTQ+ Places by Greggor Mattson both explore the importance of maintaining these bars and spaces in both larger cities and small towns in order to keep those communities connected. Folks from Women & Children First bookstore, 5233 N. Clark St., were on hand to sell copies of the books, which the authors autographed and spoke with audience members about individually.
