Real estate giant Baird and Warner welcomed Pride month with its annual Out of the Office soiree in the rooftop bar of the Godfrey Hotel at 127 W. Huron Street.

The event, which took place on May 28, also reached its 25th anniversary as well as 11 years at the hotel. The annual event has become a celebrated social and networking event, aimed at developing corporate, media and business connections and relationships in the LGBTQ+ community.

Guests mingled and dined on mini-eggrolls, chicken skewers and sliders, and enjoyed the view on what turned out to be a perfect summer day. As in years past, this edition of Out of the Office was a benefit for Chicago Legacy Project, which is now sponsoring the  #WeWillNotBeErased preserving LGBTQ+ history.

Chicago Legacy Project co-chair Kit Welch greeted the guests and said, “Our organization is only one of the many LGBTQ+ targets of the Trump Administration’s campaign of hatred, denial and fear, and I stand here today with all of you in unity and defiance to say we will not be erased. Together we will stand tall and fight back in every way we can, and your support of The Legacy Project’s mission to preserve, promote, and defend the truth about our history is critical.”

Raffle prizes for the event were provided by Middleby Cookware, The Kit Kat Club, Navy Pier, Drew’s On Halsted, Buzzed by Zea, Lake View East, and Chicago Legacy Project.

Sponsors  for Out of the Office included Baird and Warner, Godfrey Hotel, Ald. Bennett Lawson (44th Ward), Chicago Social Butterflies, Middleby Cookware and Plageman Agency at American Family Insurance, with media sponsorship from Windy City Times.
