A carnival dress of 85,000 crystals, Swarovski’s Queen of Fantasy, makes its first appearance in the United States. The costume was created to celebrate the 1996 Carnival in Tenerife, Spain. The jewels that make up the nearly 700-pound Queen of Fantasy are in the form of chatons, fancy shapes, sew-on-stones, beads and pendants. The dazzling color effects of the crystals, the close to 1,000 feet of silver-plated cupchain and more than 250,000 hand-painted spangles, creates a fantastical visual. This will be the last stop on the Queen’s tour. It runs thru Oct. 31 at Marshall Field’s, 111 N. State St.
