The 2006 Gay Games need more Chicagoans to open their homes and provide lodging to international athletes coming to Chicago from around the U.S. and the rest of the world. ‘More athletes and officials are looking for housing than we have available hosts,’ said Kevin Boyer, Gay Games Board Co-Vice Chair, in a statement.

Interested hosts register their homes in an online system at www.GayGamesChicago.org (selecting ‘Housing’). Participants also register as guests and then the prospective hosts and guests connect through online searches. No fees are paid by either host or guest for the hosted housing relationship.

In addition to downtown locations, sports are taking place in Evanston, Oak Park, along the lakefront, at UIC and in the University of Chicago area. Athletes receive a CTA pass as part of their registration packages.
