Nation’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser returns to Chicago. Dining Out For Life: DINE OUT. FIGHT AIDS.
March 21 2011 — Chicago, IL — North America’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser returns to Chicago on April 28th 2011. In its 18th year, Dining Out For Life in Chicago champions the incredible generosity of local restaurants and patrons as they join together to give back to the community. Presented by EdgeAlliance, a provider of housing and services to Chicago residents living with HIV/AIDS, the event has an immediate and positive impact on those who battle this disease daily. The goal of this year’s event is to raise over $250,000 for these residents.
More than 80 Chicago restaurants in 30 neighborhoods will come together to celebrate this revolutionary cause. Each participating restaurant will donate a generous portion of their proceeds of the day to EdgeAlliance to provide affordable housing and supportive services to residents on its North Lawndale Housing Campus on Chicago’s West Side. The campus currently houses more than 125 children, women, and men who are otherwise homeless and living with HIV/AIDS. Last year, Dining Out For Life raised over $100,000 in Chicago alone and over $4 million nationwide.
Even with a dire need for funds and a serious purpose, Dining Out For Life offers an evening filled with great food and great fun, all for a great cause. Patrons are encouraged to gather with their family, friends and co-workers to support the charitable spirit of Chicago and join the fight against HIV/AIDS. Special menus and festive décor particular to each restaurant promise to make for a memorable night, and with a donation of $10 or more, patrons are included in a raffle with five desirable grand prizes, including flights to the Caribbean and a dinner cruise.
