There is no connection between the recent Uptown stabbing of a 19-year-old and other North Side killings, a police spokesperson told Windy City Times.
The body of Johnathan Fields was discovered by his roommate at 820 W. Lakeside on March 15; Fields had been stabbed multiple times, according to published reports. He was officially pronounced dead on March 16.
There had been rumors that Fields’ death may be linked to the murders of theater director Brad Winters (killed in Lincoln Park in 2003) and Kevin Clewer (killed in Lakeview in 2004), which have not yet been solved. However, police spokeswoman Monique Bond said that there is no connection between the deaths.
