Openly gay attorney and community leader Jim Snyder—who last year contended for the Illinois State Representative seat that ultimately went to Greg Harris—has been appointed Circuit Judge of Cook County, Tenth Subcircuit, to fill the vacancy caused by the Hon. Robert Kowalski’s retirement.
Snyder, who described himself as feeling ‘far-out’ after finding out about the appointment, will be sworn in March 23 at the Supreme Court of Illinois Building, 160 N. LaSalle. His term ends Dec. 1, 2008.
