About Face nominated for GLAAD award
About Face Theatre Artistic Director Bonnie Metzgar and Executive Director Jason Held have announced that Let Them Eat Cakea piece conceived and developed by Holly Hughes, Mo Angelos and AFT Artistic Associate Megan Carney in the 2009 XYZ Festival of New Workhas been nominated in the category of Outstanding New York Theatre: Off-Off Broadway for this year's GLAAD Media Awards.
"About Face is honored to receive national recognition from GLAAD for this piece from our XYZ Festival of New Work, and is very proud to have supported these exceptional artists on Let Them Eat Cake," said Metzgar in a statement.
The GLAAD award events will be held in New York City on March 19; in San Francisco on May 14; and in Los Angeles on a date to be detre ined.
Steppenwolf to honor Plimpton March 15
Steppenwolf ensemble member and three-time Tony® and Emmy® nominee Martha Plimpton will be the guest of honor at the 2nd annual Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts fundraising luncheon Tuesday, March 15, at 12 p.m. at The W ChicagoCity Center, 172 W. Adams.
Plimpton will be interviewed about her stage, television and film career by Steppenwolf Artistic Director Martha Lavey in a format similar to Inside the Actors Studio. Ensemble member Joan Allen was honored at last year's inaugural event.

'Orlando' at Court March 10-April 10
Court Theatre continues its 56th season with Virginia Woolf's Orlando, adapted by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Jessica Thebus. The production will run March 10-April 10 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis.
Sarah Ruhl adapted Virginia Woolf's gender-bending novel about sex, love and history. Often called the longest love letter in literary history, Woolf's Orlando tells the story of an English nobleman, Orlando, who lives for hundreds of years before falling asleep and waking up as a woman. Tilda Swinton played the title role in the film version.

'Monologues' at Copley Theatre
An engagement of the The Vagina Monologues will run at Paramount Theatre's Copley Theatre, 8 E. Galena, Aurora, through the first weekend in May.
"Monologues" will run Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Fridays at 8 p.m. Tickets are $28.50 and may be purchased the Paramount Theatre box office at 630-896-6666.
