Feature Series

Location: Centre East Theatre

Time: 05:00 PM

Lily Tomlin is a versatile performer, comedian, writer and producer that has touched some of the most beloved American comedy institutions. Whether you're listing her classic television credits like Laugh-In, Murphy Brown, The West Wing or Will & Grace; feature film credits like 9 to 5 or Robert Altman's Nashville and A Prairie Home Companion; or those she's acted beside like Jane Fonda, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, Richard Dreyfuss and Steve Martin - Lily Tomlin can easily be recognized as an entertainment legend.

On this visit to Skokie, Lily brings multi-media to her performance, with a variety of video clips especially compiled to satirize her celebrity and to showcase her classic characters in their renowned roles. A few of her iconic monologues will appear in this performance because of their timelessness and popularity-and because audiences would riot if Ernestine did not appear at some point during the evening!

But her classic characters also appear in new roles: Edith Ann has moved into social media, uploads her mother's iPod and now has to endure life with her 13 year old sister, Irene. Since the divestiture of AT&T, Ernestine has been working for an insurance conglomerate denying healthcare to everyone. These new roles are enhanced by video versions with whom Lily interacts on stage. Lily also introduces videos of other characters not seen in years as well as videos/photos of her childhood. While anyone who has seen her show in the past will remember some of the venerated monologues, Lily has now incorporated great new material and new special effects into her performance.

Tickets: $76-$42
