Actress Anne Heche reportedly crashed her car into a house in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles on Aug. 5, setting both the vehicle and the house on fire, according to CNN.
She is now in critical condition, having suffered severe burns.
The driver was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when she ran off the road and collided with a residence, Los Angeles Police Public Information Officer Jeff Lee said.
Heche first rose to fame on the soap opera Another World, where she played twins Vicky Hudson and Marley Love from 1987 to 1991, earning a Daytime Emmy Award. She followed that with roles in films like Donnie Brasco, Six Days Seven Nights and Wag the Dog. She has also been in TV series like Quantico and Dancing with the Stars.
In the late 1990s, Heche dated Ellen DeGeneres, resulting in intense media attention at the time. Heche has said she was blacklisted because of the relationship.
