Chicago kicks off the season on Sunday, May 16 at 6pm CT when they face Portland Thorns FC. The home opener is set for Saturday, May 22 at 7pm CT at SeatGeek Stadium against NY/NJ Gotham FC.

In accordance with Illinois health and safety guidelines, fans will be allowed to attend Chicago Red Stars home matches at a reduced capacity starting with the team's home opener on May 22. You can review the team's current COVID Safety Protocols here: www.chicagoredstars.com/covid-protocol . Please note, these protocols are subject to change.

The 2021 NWSL Regular Season will see all 10 clubs scheduled to play 24 matches, with the Red Stars set to play 12 home and 12 away games. Notable matchups include the first-ever match between Chicago and expansion team Racing Louisville on Saturday, June 26 at SeatGeek Stadium, and a late-season home clash against Portland Thorns FC on Saturday, September 25.

The Red Stars enter their eighth season in the NWSL after reaching consecutive championship matches in 2019 and 2020 along with six consecutive league playoff appearances. Six teams will qualify for an expanded NWSL playoffs set to take place beginning in November 2021, with the top two seeds receiving a first-round bye.
