CNN host Don Lemon insisted he is not leaving the network after claiming on his show on May 14 that "changes are coming," according to Newsweek.
In part, he said, "It's been really, really great. This is the last night that will be CNN Tonight with Don Lemon. So I appreciate all the years of CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, but changes are coming and I will fill you in."
Later, after seeing comments on social media about his announcement, Lemonwho joined the network in 2006responded, "I didn't say I was leaving CNN, I just said it was the end of an era for CNN Tonight with Don Lemon. I'm not leaving CNN, so you will have to tune in Monday [May 17] at 10 o'clock to see. That's it. So relax. I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving."
It turns that the show is simply being renamed. As of May 17, the show will be known as Don Lemon Tonight, USA Today reported. Lemon tweeted the news May 15.
Also according to USA Today, Lemon and fellow CNN news personality Chris Cuomo are launching their own podcast, "The Handoff," on Apple Podcasts this month. Unlike their TV appearances, the podcast will be teleprompter-free and include candid conversations between Cuomo and Lemon.
Recently, Lemon revealed to Tamron Hall that he and fiance Tim Malone are looking to start a family through adoption or surrogacy in the coming years.
