Legendary tennis figure Martina Navratilova said she is now cancer-freefour months after announcing she had been diagnosed with throat and breast cancer, ESPN reported.
"As far as they know I'm cancer-free," Navratilova told Piers Morgan for TalkTV. "I still need to do the right breast probably with radiation but only for a couple of weeks and that's more preventative than anything else."
The lesbian icon, 66, was previously diagnosed with a noninvasive form of breast cancer in 2010 and had a lumpectomy.
Last November, she noticed an enlarged lymph node in her neck while attending a WTA tournament in Fort Worth, Texas; a biopsy revealed cancer. While Navratilova was undergoing tests on her throat, she said, the breast cancer was discovered.
Navratilova's wife, Real Housewives of Miami co-star Julia Lemigova, recently revealed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that the cancer diagnoses put the couple's adoption plans "on hold," per Page Six.
