Curious Theatre Branch will host a three-week celebration of the solo performance monologues of the late Michael Martin, curated by Kelly Anchors.
A Michael Martin Tribute will take place Nov. 11-28 at Pride Arts Center, 4139 N. Broadway.
The performance schedule is as follows:
Thursdays: Nov. 11 and 18 at 8 p.m. Danne W. Taylor performs The Bearer and Max McKune performs Bachelor in New Orleans.
Fridays: Nov. 12, 19 and 26 at 8 p.m. Chris Bower performs Justine Bateman.
Saturdays: Nov. 13, 20 and 27 at 8 p.m. Mark Chrisler performs Hinckley on Foster.
Please note: there will be an added performance of The Bearer and Bachelor in New Orleans on Sunday, Nov. 28. at 7 p.m.
Martin was a playwright, actor, storyteller, social-media maven, director and friend to hundreds of people in the Chicago and New Orleans fringe art scenes and beyond. He died in New Orleans in April at age 63. According to The Chicago Reader, Martin immersed himself in the spectacle of New Orleans, often participating in the Gay Easter Parade as Flamingo Dude.
