Sets Stage At Two Leading Gay Bars - Sidetrack and Circuit
Chicago – May 15, 2006
One of the most anticipated singing events in the gay and lesbian community is coming to a dramatic end in June and contains what could be the best lineup of performers ever to grace the stage of Windy City Gay Idol.
With the contest in its fourth year, Windy City Media Group and Bud Light continue to bring a bigger and better event to the community, entertaining thousands along the way to crowning the Gay Idol winner.
This year a new venue, Sidetrack, 3349 N. Halsted, becomes the center of excitement for the Semi-Finals on Saturday, June 3 at 6 pm. Twenty ( 20 ) semi-finalists, who have each won at a preliminary bar, will jump on stage with fans in the crowd cheering them on and judges critiquing their every move, to sing their chosen song and hopefully win a ticket to the finals.
It's not an easy road to the $1000 grand prize, American Airlines tickets, a Bud Light Mountain Bike and much more – not to mention the title of Windy City Gay Idol 2006. Contestants are critiqued by judges who include Grammy-nominated singers, world-class DJs and nationally recognized music promoters who are not always nice when things don't go so well.
Ten lucky ( and talented ) contestants will win at Sidetrack and move on to the Final Competition at Circuit Nightclub, 3641 N. Halsted, on Friday, June 16th , 8 p.m., to compete one last time, in front of hundreds of people, for their chance at the title.
The name of the game for contestants competing in Windy City Gay Idol is to bring out friends, win over the crowd and the judges, and put on an amazing show.
Windy City Gay Idol competitions have proudly been mentioned on NBC TV, FOX TV, KISS FM, The MIX, NUDE HIPPO TV, METROMIX TV, the RED EYE, CHICAGO TRIBUNE and more.
