One of the cases documented in the It’s Time, Illinois 1999 list of transgendered hate crimes and bias was the one involving two gay man and a transgendered woman visiting the Liar’s Club. The trio claims the bar’s bouncers treated them with bias, and the two gay men, Chad Edwards and Kurt Schneider, say they were the ones who sustained injuries and property damages.
But Cook County State’s Attorney Richard Devine is pursuing the cases against Edwards and Schneider—the Liar’s Club pressed charges against the men, claiming they were the ones who attacked.
