Fired educator sues
The Boston Globe reports that a Department of Education worker fired earlier this year for leading a sexually explicit talk with teenagers is suing the agency and the two conservative activists who secretly taped the session.
In a lawsuit, Margot Abels accuses Scott Whiteman and Brian Camenker of violating her civil rights and the state’s antiwiretapping law by recording the sex education workshop she led.
Teens admit prejudice
Nearly 40 percent of the teens polled in the Y2K Who’s Who Among American High School Students survey say they are prejudiced against gays, far more than those claiming bias against any racial, ethnic or religious group.
Also measured in the annual survey were attitudes toward racial minorities, violence in schools, drug and alcohol use, parental influence and sexual activity.
