Equality Illinois’ fourth annual dinner/dance “Swinging into the New Millennium” is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. The event is one of Illinois’ largest political dinners and proceeds are used to support Equality Illinois’ work toward passage of a statewide GLBT civil-rights bill

Last year’s Gala 2000 was sold out. To accommodate a larger crowd, the event has been moved to Hilton’s larger International Ballroom. The evening will again include the popular Parade of Political Leaders. More than 125 federal, state and local elected officials are expected to attend. Entertainment for “Swinging into the New Millennium” will be provided by the popular Bradley Young Orchestra.

The evening features a VIP champagne reception beginning at 6 p.m. followed by a cocktail hour at 7 p.m. and dinner and dancing at 8 p.m. VIP tickets, which include the champagne reception and preferred seating, are $285 ($2,850 per table of ten). Regular tickets are $185 ($1,850 table of ten).

The exclusive event sponsors for the gala include Belvedere; Bombay Sapphire Dry Gin; Bacardi; Dewar’s 12; Knob Creek; Sauza Conmemorativo; Miller Lite; Korbel California Champagne; and Steamworks. Continuing partners are American Airlines, Sidetrack, and Voltaire.

Reservations can be made by calling Equality Illinois at (773) 477-7173 or 888-IFHR-888. All tickets will be held at the door.
