The supreme court of the Canadian province of British Columbia ruled Jan. 9 that provincial Attorney General Graeme Bowbrick can be a co-plaintiff in a lawsuit filed by two gay couples seeking the right to marry.
Bowbrick and the couples believe Canada’s ban on gay marriages is unconstitutional because the Canadian Supreme Court ruled last year that discrimination based on sexual orientation is unconstitutional.
